Ryan Hayward is a computer science researcher at University of Alberta.
Among other subjects he is interested in computer Hex, as shown by various publications. In particular he and his coauthors contributed to the formalisation of the concept of dead and dominated cells with the article Dead Cell Analysis in Hex and the Shannon Game.
Hex playing programs
He took part in the programmation of MoHex, the Hex playing program that finished second in 2008 ICGA championship. He was also the engine programmer of Wolve, the winner of these Olympiads.
